The village of Ardess is set on the north eastern edge of
Lower Lough Erne, in the heart of Fermanagh's Lakelands. It
is located on the main Enniskillen to Ederney Road (B72).
While enjoying charming rural surroundings, Ardess is also close to local shops and schools with amenities being very
accessible in the neighbouring towns of Irvinestown (4M),
Enniskillen (13M) and Omagh (18M).The local village of Kesh
(1.5M) is a popular tourist destination with two caravan parks,
a water sports centre, hotel and golf course.

Living at Ardess Glebe provides an excellent opportunity to
avail of the many attractions on offer in the Fermanagh Lakelands.
Fishing, yachting, pleasure cruising, walking, and caving
are just some of the various outdoor activities available.
Angling needs are catered for on the reedy shores of Lough
Erne which claims many world coarse angling match records.
Trout and salmon fishing are also excellent. Donegal is only
8 miles away and a 40 minute drive will access the breakers
of the Atlantic Ocean and beautiful stretches of white sandy
beach.
Nearby buildings of interest include the picturesque St Marys
Magheraculmoney Parish Church which dates back to the 14th Century
and has historical records dating back to 1622. The church with
its 3 stage tower is a distinctive landmaark in Ardess. Directly
below the church lies the family vault of the Archdales once
one of Fermanaghs premier families.
Other local items of interest include a Famine pit which dates
back to the great famine of 1845-1850. A Neolithic passage tomb
exists also and a stone circle that encloses cremation burials
dating back to the Bronze age.
